The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
