Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
