When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
