Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
