The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
