The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who creates, then makes complete, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then reduces them to rusty rubbish. 5 By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 So remind, if the reminder should benefit; 9 The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah): 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him. 15 However, (the disbelievers) prefer the worldly life 16 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Verily! This is in the former Scriptures, 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
