The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And rejects the best, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
