The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport, 2 Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" 3 He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? 6 And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations – therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
