And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
