Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
