Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
