In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Suad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 How many a village have We laid in ruin! In the night Our Might fell upon it, or at midday when they were drowsy. 4 And when Our punishment overtook them they had nothing to say except crying out: "We have indeed been sinners." 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And those whose (deeds) are lighter in the scale shall perish for violating Our signs. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
