The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
