The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
