Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble recorders, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
