The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
