Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
