Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
