The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great event, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
