The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
