And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, you shall be lost. 34 "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him." 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Thereafter We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our signs and an authority manifest. 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 So they rejected them both, and became those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam and his mother a sign; and We sheltered the twain on a height: a quiet abode and running water. 50
