The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 who guard their privates, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
