Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 So like golden camels." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
