The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you may 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
