Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
