The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
All praise unto Allah who hath sent down unto His bondman the Book, and hath not placed therein any crookedness. 1 [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward 2 Staying in it for ever; 3 and admonish those who say that God has begotten a son. 4 No knowledge whatever have they of Him, and neither had their forefathers: dreadful - is this saying that comes out of their mouths, [and] nothing but falsehood do they utter! 5 Yet it may be, if they believe not in this statement, that thou (Muhammad) wilt torment thy soul with grief over their footsteps. 6 Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embellishment for it, so that We may try them (as to) which of them is best in works. 7 For We shall certainly turn it to barren dust. 8 Do you think that the people of the Cave and the Inscription were one of Our wondrous signs? 9 When the youths took refuge in the Cave saying, 'Our lord, give us mercy from Thee, and furnish us with rectitude in our affair.' 10 And thereupon We veiled their ears in the cave for many a year, 11 Then We roused them, in order to test which of the two parties was best at calculating the term of years they had tarried! 12
