Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 "The One Who created me, so He will guide me." 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And all the armies of Satan. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 "When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation." 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
