The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. THESE ARE MESSAGES of the Qur'an - a divine writ clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 1 a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers 2 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 3 Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray. 4 It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Quran from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. 6 Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves. 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. 9 "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- 10 "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." 12 So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment. 13 And they persisted in rejecting them wrongfully and arrogantly, while in their hearts they were convinced of their truth. Observe, then, how evil was the fate of the evil-doers. 14
