Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
