And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden ship, 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
