AND [thus it is:] We have not created heaven and earth and all that is between them without meaning and purpose, as is the surmise of those who are bent on denying the truth: but then, woe from the fire [of hell] unto all who are bent on denying the truth! 27 [For,] would We treat those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds in the same manner as [We shall treat] those who spread corruption on earth? Would We treat the God-conscious in the same manner as the wicked? 28 [This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-- 31 Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord-- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said): 32 He said, "Bring them back to me." Then he started to rub their legs and necks. 33 Certainly We tried Solomon, and We cast upon his throne a mere body; then he repented. 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 We therefore gave the wind under his control, moving steadily by his command wherever he wished. 36 And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient), 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 'This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning' 39 And indeed for him in Our presence are, surely, proximity and an excellent abode. 40
