Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Do they have another god besides God? God is too exalted to be considered equal to the idols. 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
