He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And he fears, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 to yield therein corn, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 olives, dates, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
