And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
