and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
