The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
