Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In an elevated garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
