The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9
