The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And shade extended 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
