The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
