The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
