And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
