Do they whose minds are filled with doubt, think that God will not expose their malice? 29 And if We willed, We would surely shew them unto thee, so that thou shouldst surely know them by their marks. And thou shalt surely know them by the mode of their speech. And Allah knoweth your works. 30 Most certainly We will try you until We have discovered those among you who strive their hardest, and those who are steadfast, and will test your record. 31 Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect. 32 O you who believe, obey God and the Prophet, and do not waste your deeds. 33 ۞ Verily, those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah (i.e. Islam); then die while they are disbelievers, Allah will not forgive them. 34 AND SO, [when you fight in a just cause,] do not lose heart and [never] beg for peace: for, seeing that God is with you, you are bound to rise high [in the end]; and never will He let your [good] deeds go to waste. 35 The worldly life is just a sport and pastime; and if you accept faith and be pious, He will bestow your rewards to you, and not at all ask you for your wealth. 36 [for,] if He were to demand of you all of them, and urge you, you would niggardly cling [to them,] and so He would [but] bring out your moral failings. 37 Behold! you are those who are called upon to spend in Allah's way, but among you are those who are niggardly, and whoever is niggardly is niggardly against his own soul; and Allah is Self-sufficient and you have need (of Him), and if you turn back He will bring in your place another people, then they will not be like you. 38
