NAY, but consider the moon! 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
