Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
