Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
