He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to a rich man, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 and who has fear of God, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing and joyous 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
