They ask you about "the spirit". Say: "The spirit descends by the command of my Lord, but you have been given only a little knowledge." 85 If We pleased, We would certainly take away that which We have revealed to you, then you would find no guardian for you against Us, 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others. 88 And indeed We have fully explained to mankind, in this Quran, every kind of similitude, but most mankind refuse (the truth and accept nothing) but disbelief. 89 And say: "We will not believe you until you make a spring of water gush forth from the earth for us; 90 “Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and you make gushing rivers to flow in it.” 91 Or thou causest the heaven to fall upon us, as thou assertest, in pieces, or thou bringest God and the angels face to face. 92 Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend into heaven, and we will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say: Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal apostle? 93
