The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
