Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
